Will work on it. Give me two weeks, and I will get it done, and send it back to you.First off, let me say: Bellissimo! Beautiful work of personal history, beautiful love story as well. Bless you and Manang Samar more and more, and more and more. Let''s see this book come to its own birthing--and soon. And may I say: tender. Yes, the memory here is tender, so tender one can become teary eyed while reading every letter. Dr. Aurelio Solver AgcaoiliThis book is divided into two (2) parts: the Ilokano (original) and the English translation. It consists of three-year love letters of the authors, from 1966-1968, with annotation. It is not a mere love letters but also touches the private lives of partys families, many Ilokano writers and the Ilokano literature in general. It started with a prologue which is divided into two parts each for the authors where they touched how they started their writing professions, how they metthrough the letters to the editors section where Sinamar congratulated Lorenzo for his noveland how they started to weave their fibers of roses. They are the first members of the GUMIL (Ilokano Writers Association) that were knotted together (four others got married outside the association, and or after them). The letters were divided into three years. Before each letter, there is an annotation to explain how, when, where, and who were mentioned in the letter. There are letters where private lives of friends and relatives of both sides were touched that made the book differed from other books of love letters. It ended with an epilogue, a part is quoted: The flowers that were spread all around the whole path we traversed were not entirely roses. And while looking back to where we had gone thru, there were occasions that we want to delete so that they wont appear in the leaves of the story of our lives, but they were written in the past, although some of them were not written in words. In our hearts we are pleading that the things that we do not like to look back were not supposed to be done or happened. But is there anybody who could unfurl back the past times? Unlike the writings that could easily be edited if we want to change a part that we want to revise, to make it better, more sparkling to entice the feeling to read again and again and again! When time comes that all our children had settled down, and we are left alone in the yard of afternoon to wait the setting down of our sun, we will be left looking back the past, discerning the profundity of life being woven by our offspring. Oh yes, we will look up the stars together, and in spite of our shrivels, we will smile to each other that in our eye reflects the woven fibers of roses. At the end of the English translation is where the 22 pictures were added. The introduction is written by Dr. Aurelio S. Agcaoili, a prominent figure at the University of Hawaii in Manoa; with comments of Prescillano N. Bermudez and Cristino I. Inay, Sr. prominent writers during the authors time; and Lorenzo R. It is mostly autobiographical, although there are times when two situations of different births fit one birth with more excitement. All birth stories are essentially true, the names may have been altered for privacy of the client or the Midwife. The stories begin in 1974 and go through 2003. It would be impossible to recall all the births as there were sometimes 3 or 4 births a week, even 3 in one day at one point.I have selected details from the most exciting births to keep your interest and for me to recall some of the most wonderful times of my life. I retired in 2003 as I was diagnosed with severe panic attacks. Young waiters hover discreetly nearby, anticipating every diner''s need. However, despite these common depictions of the elderly as individuals who are serenely content, I can personally attest that this is absolutely not the case. In brief, our lives at eighty and beyond, in terms of quantity remaining, can be summed up of course as "not much." But what about quality? I have to tell you the answer is the same: "not much."Why is this so? It is because if we live beyond eighty (and even earlier), we typically suffer from such an assortment of maladies that the capacity to enjoy life is diminished. We require the use of a wheelchair or walker or at least a cane to move around, and chronic pain is etched on many faces or is evident in our physical demeanor. But what I have found most disconcerting is an absence of irreverent humor and appreciation of the absurd. Wayne and Virginia Wright, former Wesleyan missionaries to the Philippines, wrote this tribute for his funeral that best describes his life:Roberto became a part of our lives more than sixty years ago. There are some important words that we think of at this time that characterized his life. The first big word is grace. Roberto did not become who he was because of money or any of the benefits that most people think are important. God chose Roberto out of what could have been a negative early beginning and brought him into his family through grace. We have no way of knowing what Robertos life might have been without that wonderful grace of God to make a life meaningful that otherwise might have been wasted. Roberto Bumanlags life is a testimony of what God can do through grace. The next big word is giftedness. There are not many things anyone can do, but what Roberto could do better. God not only changed him through grace, he gifted him with abilities to do almost anything and do them well. His hands were gifted with the ability to make things beautiful. His voice was gifted to sing well for his Lord. He had an impressive mind to think and speak in God-honoring ways. Many years ago, when Roberto was a young student at Bible school and sometimes living with us in our home, there wasnt much that needed to be done that he could not do. We still have some things he made that we will remember him by. Throughout his long life, he gave himself to live faithfully using and expressing the many gifts God gave him.Another big word is love. We will not remember Roberto so much for all the things he didwe will remember him because he was loving toward all he shared life with. She called the letters her Dear Railway Children and shared with her young readers the adventures of her early life. Late she gathered copies of the many letters and had them printed as a book for children fascinated with her story.

All of the people that I have ever shared my stories with, had a response similar to J Kirks. He was very close to his siblings. They took good care of him. At an early age, he was left by his siblings in Indiana with their grandfather, while they were taken to New York by their mother. He survived his environment for three years before he was reunited with his siblings in New York. He looked up to his oldest brother, who guided and taught him that school and hard work can lead them to a better way of life. His brother was an excellent role model. They both worked hard to help their family in any way they could. After he finished college, he joined his older brother in the New York City Department of Correction. In it he recalls a journey beginning in a small village in southern India and ending in the southern United States. The son of a poor but brilliant school teacher and linguist, Joshi relates his beginnings at school, moving through hard-fought successes to the completion of the highest levels of education at Cambridge. Throughout the journey and for all his life, a philosophy of peace, regard for his fellow man, and an attitude of determination regardless of the pitfalls of life shine through his modest writing. Joshi expands on his long career in experimenting with plants and Natural Products for synthesis and use in pharmaceuticals in India, Switzerland, and the United States. He writes of family, weddings, and celebrations in India, and travels to many countries. He recalls a small but dangerous role he played in the fight for independence of India from Great Britain. Retired many years ago and living in Georgia, he loses his beloved wife, finds productive activity in a Natural Products, learns painting, and finds new friends and companionship throughout his senior years. It is different from other books that may be described as action-packed or "a page turner". It is an inspirational and emotional biographical book that puts you into the life of an orthodox Jew, Solomon Siegel, living in Brooklyn, New York from 1910 until his death in 1951. Through speeches, poems, songs, parables, jokes and Torah stories he is able to present his moral values and philosophy. Many of his writings are so thought provoking and informative that it may require you to sit and contemplate his meaning. His views on the coming of the State of Israel give us the historical view of the Jewish community when he served as a synagogue president. We see his heartfelt obligation and devotion to the survivors of the Holocaust in his support of The Hachnosas Kallah (Bridal Fund) for the young Jewish immigrants arriving here without funds to marry and start a new life. Many of his writings are a powerful and poignant reminder for today''s Jewish community if they are to survive the current secular world we live in. The theme of his writings is the keeping of the Sabbath and the Holidays that will define us as Jews. My adventure into the literary world is not a creative attempt to become a famous author. Through this book I want my family to have a strong connection to a person that, to my own regret, I never had. I believe I have achieved this goal. When my twin brother, Martin, and I visited Suwalki Poland his home town, and also through my research of the area and time he was there it was reinforced.
