London-Victoria has parents from two different continents, a mother from Suriname and a father from Germany, and she was born In the USA. Its very easy to see why her friends are all different and still love as one.Tai, Sebrina, Joylin, Frido, Soraja, and Zachary are all her best friends who travel with her, and she cant wait to tell you about all of them. She wants to teach you about the people, the food, and the language in a fun-loving way. As a treat, you will also get a recipe and a song and learn some words in different languages. The most important thing for London Victoria is for the kids to have fun and discover their own culture, where they are from, where the parents and grandparents are from, and what their favorite food and snacks are. That helps them build a personal relationship with their culture. Children are encouraged to ask their parents questions about their past, because the parents love to tell them all about how and where they grew up.Enjoy, have fun, and dont forget that its all filled with love, like silly little LV would say.Conchita Leeflang

Good for Politics = Bad for Americans is very much like its author: American, Frank, Honest, and truthful about that phrase. The story is based primarily on historical events as reported in the ex Black weekly newspaper, The Pittsburgh Courier. The news articles are presented as parts of fictionalized dialogue between the author, his young peers and older adult advisors. Most of the fictionalized accounts have some bases in truth but some did not occur in the sequence or to individuals as presented.Names of individuals reported in news media have not been changed, nor have the names of family members and teachers. This co-creation happened over six million years. Fifty to sixty thousand years ago, African people left Africa, migrated around the Earth, and co-created humanity. (What I write here and what was presented in the 2015 PBS television series, First Peoples, represents the same science.) Even now African people have more genetically diversity than the rest of humanity. African people in Africa were the creators of language, art, science, mathematics, technology . . . all human activities. Specifically African people created law and monotheism. The Abrahamic-Myth belief systems (Judaism, Christianity, and Islam) perverted these African beliefs. The Abrahamic system used the Ham-Noah myth to contend that Africans were cursed. Although this myth was created and interpreted by Jews, this myth was acted on by Arabs (Islamists) and Europeans (Christians) resulting in fourteen hundred years of African enslavement. Starting in the 1700s, primarily World African men led a consciousness change. Similar consciousness changes climaxed in the 1860s and the 1960s. Ensuing actions reduced African enslavement over the nineteenth century and increased some rights in the twentieth century. Yet the sustained attacks by Europeans and Arabs still impact World Africans. The counter to these attacks is a principle-based change-of-consciousness. World African can realize that they are Preeminent in Nature. World Africans can heal themselves and stimulate the rest of humanity thereby. This book presents background and a set of questions for black men to think about. The test will be whether significant positive actions results from their thoughts. Rozelle Editor, Rebecca Rozelle Burt In 1960 Eddie B. Rozelle self-published Recollections: My Folks and Fields. The book is a cultural and social history centered in Clay County, Alabama, located in the east central section of the state. By using a manual typewriter and a mimeograph machine and finally having the pages bound in heavy paper, the author recorded a thorough depiction of rural life in southern Alabama in the late nineteenth and early twentieth centuries. This new edition, edited by Eddie Rozelles daughter Rebecca Rozelle Burt, is essentially identical to the first. The editing involved little other than correcting mechanical and structural errors. An appendix was added, consisting of relevant material that should be of great interest to readers. Though Rozelle makes it clear that the grueling work involved in farming dominated the lives of most inhabitants of the region, the enormous amount of detail concerning education, medical care, church activities, entertainment, and civic practices re-creates a particular time and place in American history. The narratives of specific events come alive in this writers hands, sometimes with humor, at others with a tragic eye. The strengths of the small, close-knit world were characterized by the interdependence of family and community. Most inhabitants of the Hatchett Creek community worked together to improve their lot, both collectively and individually. Book two takes you on a political, social and economic journey from Washington (DC) to Walmart; from the top of the heap to the bottom of the pit and from a strategic agenda of disenfranchisement to its execution in the political, economic and social arenas. We move from impersonal to the personal and from the macro to the micro aspects of the impact on families and children. As the reader travels through the pages, we examine the shadow side of human nature from a political perspective. The descending and ascending order of events that impact the lives of African- Americans is exacerbated among single parents. Hypotheses, reasons, and justifications are put forth with relation to the why and how target groups are treated. We move back in time before the days of the Mayflower to answer the why inquiry and move forward stopping to visit the infamous communication of Willie Lynch to answer the how. Because education is vital to African Americans, we take a critical look at public education on all levels and ask, Are the strategies and techniques used to educate our children by design? Or, are those who develop educational materials using a system of miss education and, or selective education? In our journey we stop to revisit the workplace experiences of fifteen African-American, female, single parents from the later 20th century and ask, when is a change a change? It is a pity that the excellent qualities of bravery, industry, resilience, and perseverance historically attributed to African women, with which they negotiated for better place in the family, the Church, and the society, have been manipulated to serve as instruments for their denigration. The problem is that the patriarchal articulations of gender relations from the western world that entered Africa through colonialism, Christianity, western education and globalization allied themselves with the macho elements in African culture, and institutionalized the oppression of women; a move that women have always resisted both overtly and covertly. But how long could they hang on? This book provides exceptional and critical assessment of these issues, especially from the perspective of the Igbo society of Nigeria. Apart from assessing the strengths and weaknesses of the efforts made by women themselves to surmount these challenges, it also explores how the autochthonous values of the traditional culture could integrate with Christian values to enthrone gender equality in the society. Fr Muonwe demonstrated in this present publication his pastoral zeal for justice especially on the predicaments of women in African nay Igbo society. He regrets as it were that the African (Igbo) traditional society is still far from realizing the Christian gospel ideal of dignity and equality of human person because of the obvious environment that is strictly androcentric and carefully crafted in patriarchal hegemony I thank Fr Muonwe for this timely publication especially for many Igbo Christian communities today experiencing crisis in several aspects of our culture I hope the Bishops, the Priests, the Religious and Laity will find in this present work a rare and indispensable treasure for solutions to our pastoral predicaments. Rev. Fr. Prof. Anthony B. C. Chiegboka.New Dawn for African Women is encyclopaedic in content and daunting in its wealth of documentation [It] is a well-written book. The contents covered much more than Igbo women, or gender issues. It addressed such other issues as Igbo cosmology, Igbo concept of life and death, the history of Christianity in Igboland and Igbo social anthropology, among others. It is a book, which every Nigerian, especially the Igbo, should read. The book is inspirational and provocative in the extreme; it is original and displays learning lightly carried. One cannot but return to it over and over again after the first reading. I very strongly recommend it to the Nigerian and African reading public. C. Most of the Warriors were scouted by the majors, and they were about to leave the family farm for big city, pro careers when war was declared. They were sent to the Island of New Guinea to fight the Japanese and maybe get to play baseball in the Overseas Leagues against some big leaguers. They didn’t find out until after they deployed that they might ever get to play baseball again. They thought their pro baseball dreams were shot. But because of the style and tactics of warfare, and the intensity of the fighting on New Guinea, it was logistically impossible for Overseas Leagues to organize for morale on that island for most of the war. Being denied the morale and opportunity to participate in the Overseas Leagues, compounded by the hunger to play and the awareness that baseball was being played all around them in the South Pacific, in the end, made them bitter and thereby made them better than they already were. So, they had to gut it out. They played pick-up games when they could in the rain using homemade equipment, while getting shot at by snipers. But finally, near war’s end, on leave and visiting the wounded, they forced a little match on the hospital diamond with a top Navy team on the Island of Manila. Word of the embarrassing ass-kicking of a top Navy team by a bunch of Army nobodies got all the way back to an all-star major leaguer, stationed in Hawaii, and soon after, he and his Navy All-Stars Touring Team accompanied by a crew of Seabees arrived on New Guinea and carved a diamond out of that jungle, and a game it was…

Give it up already! states a concerned friend about my fret over the decreasing Jewish numbers. This book covers basic introductory statistics and brings to light how these statistical results are arrived at, starting with the collection of the data, its organization and summarisation, followed by the mathematical tools used both graphical and analytical to depict, describe, analyse and interpret the data. The book begins with a chapter that discusses what is data, types of data, and examines the difference between data collected for a population as opposed to a sample. The chapters that follow go on to discuss the organisation and summarisation of data in the form of frequency distributions to make it clearer and more manageable to deal with. Also covered are various graphical devices such as bar graphs, pie charts, histograms, frequency polygons, by which data may be depicted to make it easier to visualize and reveal any patterns or trends. Attention is then directed to analytical methods used to describe and characterise data sets by calculating some special numbers called numerical descriptive measures which include measures of central tendency (mean, median, mode), measures of dispersion (range, standard variation, variance), measures of relative standing (percentiles, quartiles, z- scores) and measures of association (coefficient of correlation). The book concludes with a chapter presenting some basic methods of fitting a straight line to a data set that shows a somewhat linear relationship between two variables thus allowing predictions to be made about the value of one variable given the value of the other variable. Within each chapter wherever new statistical terms are introduced for the first time they are identified in bold type and at the end of each chapter these key terms are summarised and defined or explained. It is a true unfiltered look at what life was like in the mid to late 70s, particularly the class of 76, 77, and 78. While most of the girls worked at the speedway, the guys grew up under its shadow. This was the last group of young adults who would be directly influenced by the speedways presence. Its resonant frequency echoing from the super modified cars is what permeated the souls of these extraordinary individuals, which now acted like a glue, bonding them together as they come together and grow together despite their many varied backgrounds. Also, they represented a pure slice of American culture during the disco era, so its easy to follow them on their journey from teen to young adult and then out the door at eighteen! It is a trip back to a time when Islip was a motorhead town and street machines ruled the day. It is a multifaceted read, which is part narrative, part screenplay, and part musical. And theres a bitter satirical aspect as well. The reader is totally submersed while traveling along with these twelve for one hell of a hot rod ride to adulthood. You can strut along to the sounds and smellsyes, the smellsof the salty sea air as it wafts across the bay, filling up the streets in this beautiful beach town. However, tranquility is shattered during the summer weekends by the sound of pure American horsepower, and the sea air is transformed by the burning of 120-octane fuel. In every small town in the United States, one can find its thing that all residents will identify with, either good or bad. The speedway was the thing that made the people of Islip so interesting. Located just fifty miles east of New York City is what helped make Islip, Long Island, one of the coolest suburbs, and it also provided a great backdrop to hang their story. Along with the music of the time and hot rods too, their constant socialization helps complete the teleport. (Got marshmallows, anyone?) For many, this is a look back to a much simpler time, but what you end up coming away with is that everything comes with a price! It is the author’s contention that the one thing that causes more acrimonious intent, thoughts and acts than anything anyone can point to is race. Are you “black” or “white”? What makes you “black” of “white”? How did you become “Hispanic”? How did you become an “Arab” even if you’ve never been to Saudi Arabia? The answers may not be what you think. According to the author, this is due to the lack of the average man and woman’s understanding of the truth about what race is and what race is not. The author contends that as long as people keep referring to themselves as what they are referring to themselves as this country as well as the world will never experience the peace and prosperity they profess to want. The author states, “ Everyone wants to have a ‘Conversation’ about race but no one wants to consider that both sides will be starting and engaging in dialogue with false premises. In short, lies”. In this book you will be is asked powerful common sense questions about race that, in the author’s words, “you have never been asked before.” The author goes on to examine effective problem solving; the importance of having not just knowledge but correct knowledge; what “evil” is as well as the different forms that it manifests itself in, and how evil relates to the context of race as we have been taught to perceive it; the fictitious cultures both “black” and “white” people have created in an effort to solidify their concepts of these void constructs of “black” and “white”, and a lot more. The author started this book in 2015 at the height of civil unrest following several incidents of unarmed black men who were killed by police. In Chapter Five, the book explains how not to be killed during or at the end of a police interaction. There’s even a LGBTQ+ section dealing with the author’s views and insights on “gay” marriage. While the author states that the instructions given in this chapter may not be feasible for everyone, the chapter is a must read. And even though the author states that there will be secrets left untold it will be impossible for you to leave this book without a commitment to reexamine everything you have been taught. Starting with race. This book is a must read if you have been seeking insights on the truth about an issue that has in one way or another touched us all. Is America divided? Yes. But it doesn’t have to be. Read this book to understand how we got that way and what we can do to stop being that way. This book goes a long way to help one understand “What The Hell’s Wrong With America”. It does not include any news from the three largest towns--Seneca, Walhalla (including West Union) and Westminster, because they have all been featured in previous books in the series. By the author's count, the Courier received reports, at one time or another, from 81 different rural communities during the 22-year period covered by this book. The reports were sporadic. For instance, a community might have a faithful correspondent for a while, who would submit a report nearly every week, but then he or she would quit, and there might not be another report for weeks, or months. There was one subject that nearly every report from every part of the county would include: the current status of the crops in that community. Reports also nearly always included information about church and school activities. . .This book will give the reader insight into what day-to-day life was like in rural Oconee County during the late 1800s and early 1900s.

The book of Jonah was written by Jonah in Palestine in about 853-824 BC.
