With reference to practice, the book explains the physical, constructive and electrotechnical basics. It also describes the requirements for the design and operation of these systems. The current edition deals in particular with the physics of negative and positive corona and the extended application possibilities that arise from the targeted use of positive corona. A number of references show ways to calculate and cost-effectively build a new electrostatic precipitator - or to upgrade or convert an existing one for lower clean gas values.
