The Scarlet Letter: A Romance

Hester is publicly humiliated by being forced to wear a scarlet "A" on her chest as a symbol of her sin. However, Hester remains stoic and refuses to reveal the identity of her baby’s father, Arthur Dimmesdale, a revered minister in the community. Despite intense pressure, Hester does not name Dimmesdale, and she takes on the punishment alone.
