Daemonologie

Daemonologie is a historical work on witchcraft, demons, and the supernatural written by King James I of England (James VI of Scotland) and published in 1597. Written in the form of a philosophical dialogue, the book discusses beliefs about witchcraft, sorcery, spirits, and demonic activity during the late 16th century. King James wrote the book partly to support the persecution of witches and to explain why he believed witchcraft and evil spirits were real dangers to society and religion. The work reflects the fears, superstitions, and religious attitudes of its time and had a strong influence on later witch trials and supernatural literature.
