General's Wife

I thought I had one of the most secure marriages anyone could have. My husband was rich and successful; he was a retired major general in the army. His career and doing what made him happy were what the two of us aimed for. I had withstood bullying, scoffing, belittling, and military dressing downs for thirty-nine years. I told no one about this mans behavior. I had double knee surgery, and this man whom I loved and whom I put first in my life was out breaking windows in his car, cursing me, and telling me he was leaving me at 2:30 a.m. Im leaving you because you clean too much, you take care of business too much, and you dont watch sports. But the disaster to this marriage were your knees. He left me and moved in with his ex-wife from forty-two years ago. Years of plotting, lies, planning, and betrayals by him, his ex-wife, and his three grown children had been in the making. Lies, betrayals, deceptions, and leading a double lifethings I found out about after thirty-nine years of marriage. Before he left, he told me he had been deceptive to me from the day he married me, and he was a rogue. I was totally blindsided by the evil plans he and his family were conspiring against me.This is my story of survival.
