Kim

Kim is a celebrated adventure novel by Rudyard Kipling, first published in 1901. Set against the vibrant backdrop of British India, the novel follows Kimball “Kim” O’Hara, an orphaned boy of Irish descent who grows up on the streets of Lahore and becomes involved in a world of espionage, adventure, and spiritual discovery. As Kim travels across India with a Tibetan Buddhist lama searching for a sacred river, he also becomes connected to the political intrigue of the “Great Game,” the secret rivalry between Britain and Russia in Central Asia.
