PHARMACEUTICAL MICROBIOLOGY

The subject of Microbiology has relevance to pharmaceutical sciences in two areas: Medical Microbiology as related to Pathogens of Diseases and Industrial Microbiology as related to antibiotics. The book has been divided into five chapters. First chapter deals with basic principles of microbiology including history, scope, importance and structural features of microbes along with microscopy. Second chapter deals with staining techniques. It also deals with principles and procedures for sterilization. In addition, it discusses equipments used for sterilization and indicators used to test sterilization.
