As the son of a WWII paratrooper, he came to honor his father, a man who died young, and someone he hardly knew. In the process, he witnessed the return of the Normandy veterans for a last look back at their greatest achievement, and their middle aged children, seeking to discover the depth of their fathers souls after a lifetime of love and alienation.
