Snapshots of an Inner City School

Driving down the alley between the Continuous Learning Center(CLC) and the Laundromat, I was filled with excitement and trepidation. Iwondered if my twelve years of experience had prepared me for the challengesof working at an alternative school? Would these high school inner city kidsaccept a middle class teacher with an elementary school background? Wellwhatever the outcome, I knew that my destiny was here.I first walked down the halls of CLC 14 years earlier. As a part of mytraining for an undergraduate degree in special education, I was required toobserve emotionally handicapped and socially maladjusted students at thisinner city school.
